Well let’s see . . . I’ve never “reviewed” anything before, so I suppose I’ll give it a shot! Eden of the East is probably one of my favorite animes of all time. The main characters are adorable, the plot is exciting, and the art is great. Saki’s (the girl above) and Akira’s (the guy) relationship is on of the sweetest I’ve seen in an anime. Their words and expressions tell it all – there aren’t any unnecessary romantic stunts, and there doesn’t need to be.
The anime starts when Akira Takizawa finds himself standing naked in front of the White House, with only a gun and a mysterious cellphone, and without any memory of who he is or what he did. Meanwhile, Saki Morimi also comes to the White House, determined to throw a penny into the White House’s fountain. There they meet, and after a wild incdent with the police, the two travel back to Japan, where a second bombing has occured. The series escalates from there, as Akira tries to find out who he is, how he’s connected to Careless Monday and the missing NEETs, and who is the mysterious person behind his phone and the 12 Selecao.
Overall, this is a great series. There are 11 episodes and two movies; the episodes have been subbed by Funimation and can be viewed for free on Youtube. WARNING: You have to have a 18+ account to be able to watch. I can’t remember how I found the movies, but I believe I watched them through Veoh. ^^;
Currently, I am rewatching the series, so I’ll add links to the movies as soon as I get to them.
P.S. the ending theme is lovely! listen to the full version here: link
